CoverMyMeds Creating Opportunity in Franklinton
We're excited to announce our new campus project, inspired by two main pillars: Community investment and creating a remarkable workplace for the future. These pillars will positively impact our community through the creation of more than 1,000 new jobs and secure the capital investment of $240M (across two phases) in West Franklinton.
From a community perspective, we want our impact to be on what matters, and with that, we are excited to announce two new investments with the Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) and COSI. The goal is to build programs that will create opportunities for kids and adults through training, mentorship, job-skill building and career development.
We’ve been involved in the Franklinton community for many years, and currently support a number of incredible, local organizations, including: Gladden Community House, LifeCare Alliance and Van Buren. Through Gladden Community House in particular, we’ve been able to work with other organizations, leaders and residents in the Franklinton community, with projects such as Hour of Code and Girls on the Run. Our employees feel a strong connection to this neighborhood and are excited to engage the community in unique ways.
Read on to find out what our plans are, and what these leadership opportunities mean to the community (and our team!).
COSI Partnership Positions Franklinton’s Youth for Success
We want to ensure we are making positive steps to benefit the youth of Franklinton. We are honored to work with COSI on their new science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program THE PLATFORM: A Pipeline for Student STEM Engagement, Inspiration, and Transformation — because let’s face it, technology is kind of our thing.
“Because of where COSI is located, in Franklinton’s backyard, we are especially interested in ensuring we have a positive impact for the families of these adjacent neighborhoods. Making our science center and cultural institution accessible to Franklinton and its residents is critical to COSI,” said Dr. Frederic Bertley, COSI President and CEO. “We could not be more thrilled to partner with CoverMyMeds, a health and technology company, to launch our youth flagship program that will significantly impact children and families in the Franklinton Community.“

COSI’s THE PLATFORM program will work with students in Franklinton and the surrounding neighborhoods starting at grade six, directly preparing them for university, and eventually a career in science, technology or whatever they choose to pursue. THE PLATFORM is modeled after similar programs successfully implemented in Philadelphia, Boston and Montreal, where collectively, hundreds of lives were changed by providing a holistic education through engagement, immersive hands-on experiences, communication and critical thinking. “COSI looks at this nascent partnership with CoverMyMeds as just the beginning of a long-term collaborative effort to make a difference in preparing kids from Franklinton and beyond, to be active contributors to the 21st century science and tech-based workforce.”
COSI’s mission is to “engage, inspire and transform lives and communities,” which aligns perfectly with our mission of helping patients.
Partnership with CML Enhances Learning Opportunities for Franklinton Workforce
By partnering with the Hilltop and Franklinton branches of Columbus Metropolitan Library, CoverMyMeds will assist in creating enhanced educational opportunities for adult community members directly through on-site training resources, additional technology equipment and suggested course curriculums through Lynda.com. Better access to Lynda.com will allow community members to tap into technical resources and gain practical job skills needed to be employable in their local community. With CoverMyMeds involvement, a more curated curriculum will be available, tailored toward the future of technology.
These resources will help to strengthen the community by providing better means of communication and connection, enhanced educational opportunities and accessibility to technology that will help them acquire the skills they need for the career of their choosing.
“This partnership with CoverMyMeds seeks to provide living-wage career opportunities for job-seekers in the Franklinton and Hilltop neighborhoods and, ultimately, all communities in central Ohio,” said Columbus Metropolitan Library CEO, Patrick Losinski. “We’re committed to helping build a stronger workforce, and this partnership allows us to move beyond job help and into workforce optimization.”
Thank You to Franklinton for the Welcome
One of our company core values is “Do the Right Thing,” and our intent is to be a good neighbor to the current and future residents and businesses of Franklinton, which is why we want to share our progress and highlight the exciting initiatives we support. We’re inspired by the good works already being accomplished in the community and are counting the days until the big move.
